T-Centralen Underground Station, Stockholm
T-Centralen, Stockholm
Stockholm’s underground is said to be the world’s longest art gallery. With an all-day metro pass it is possible to tour the entire network of 100 stations in a day.
These shots were taken at T-Centralen – Stockholm’s Central Station. On their underground network – Tunnelbanan. Signs shorten this to a simple letter T.
Unlike the London underground, Stockholm’s metro celebrates the rough finish, using it as a dramatic background to the artwork on practically every station.
The blue line-platform, opened in 1975, the styling was designed by the artist Per Olof Ultvedt using simple motifs of stylised flowers and leaves. This is surely one of the world’s most beautiful underground stations, perfectly summing up the Swedish vibe.
I have shots from the other stations if you would like to see more, please contact me.
