Art directing studio photo shoots is what got me into photography. So I have experience from both sides of the camera.

These are a selection of studio-based projects, most of which are shot to use on websites. Dawes Jewellery was a big job taking tiny items of jewellery. Each had to be held up and lit to make the pieces look most luxurious. Valerie Kennard’s jewellery on the other hand was quite different to photograph as it was all on a grey background – adding another challenge.

Some projects like Jeremy’s Home Store was fun to do as their products were such vibrant colours. I shot all of the products ultra close-up making the photos extra punchy.

The up-market personalised items by Inkerman created another challenge as I was looking for appropriate backgrounds too.

A lot of the products simply have to be all shot on a cut-out white background. All be at the same angle and have identical lighting, such as all the packaging shots for Copenhagen Candles Company.
